Strategy is a big word. You might associate it with lofty goals, bleeding edge technology and grand plans. But in reality wouldn't you be better off being realistic about what you really want to do and think 'how is this actually going to happen?'
All this talk about creating compelling and connected experiences often just confuses the real issue - how do you generate activity? How are we going to get anything to happen?

The reason why strategic planning often doesn't happen is not because people think it's not important or because they would rather just press on aimlessly.
It's because real life is complicated and there is usually little time to step back from the day-to-day and just *think*. On top of that, strategy is useless without detailed implementation planning. And that's not easy.
An outside perspective is usually helpful, too. We run meetings with our clients where we take a half day or so and talk things through. We present ideas and insights, but we also listen and debate.
And when it comes to implementation planning we are happy to get into the real nitty gritty of what it's going to take to turn a digital strategy into a success story. Drop us a line if this is something you think might help you.
"More than half of all computers aren't computers any more."
Statistics like this (Deloitte) are obviously really significant, but should you throw everything you've got at a new smartphone or tablet strategy? Would that be sensible? And if not, what's the right balance to strike?
What sort of strategy will keep you in the game now but also put you in pole position for future opportunities and markets?
If you're worried about this you can certainly take comfort in the fact that you're not alone.
If there's one thing that's fairly certain it's that your business will need to change, but whether you think you're standing on a 'burning platform' (Nokia CEO) or just interested in finding the business 'adjacencies' that will one day be your major operations, it usually pays to take a step back and think it through.
We are always happy to help with this process. Drop us a line!
